Over the past few years I've deliberately accumulated a short list of my most visited websites for anything organizational design, strategy, talent, or leadership related - what I'm summarizing as "The Future of Work."

Building a good team from the ground up:

Signal vs. Noise - a blog from the intuitive team collaboration software, Basecamp, filled with gems from DHH and Jason Fried on building an honest, sustainable and thriving bootstrapped business.
Increment Mag - Susan Fowler and Stripe have teamed up to bring to life a visually stunning digital magazine about how teams build and operate software at scale.
Atlassian Handbook - a no-bullshit guide to unleashing your team’s potential. The Atlassian team put together a delightful team building handbook that includes an anthology of all the best "forming, storming, and norming" tips.
Culture Amp “People Geeks” Blog - Culture Amp’s blog keeps you up to date with the latest and greatest in measuring employee experience. Pro tip: subscribe to the People Geekly newsletter to stay the most fresh.

Organizational design:

The Ready - an org design consulting firm focused on building adaptive, human, and sustainable organizations. I’ve found their OS Canvas particularly useful!
August - another firm with an exceptionally well put-together open source resource hub. They literally have a “Steal our stuff” section of their website to access their public Google drive. You can find everything from August’s own operations dashboards, to the company’s salary breakdown, to facilitation guides, presentations, and reading lists.
Responsive Org - a movement and manifesto created by a group of forward-thinking humans driving forward the “future of work” initiative by building workplaces ready for the 21st century.

Leadership and management:

Rands in Repose - Michael Lopp (pen name: Rands) is the current VP of Engineering at Slack. He writes damn great stuff and wrote a damn great book, Managing Humans. Pro tip: most chapters from the book can actually be found in his blog archive!
Rands Leadership Slack channel - a hub of ~5,000 leaders in the start-up/tech space who are talking about the ups and downs of leadership and how to build brilliant teams. There's a #channel for pretty much everything (#careers, #compensation, #canada...).
HBR - a classic hit or miss (but mostly hit) compendium of the latest research-backed leadership, management, and strategy articles.
Know Your Company - a company spun out of Basecamp, lead by Claire Lew, focused on embracing employee feedback and having honest conversations in the workplace. Check out the Knowledge Center - it’s packed with quick, but thorough reads.

More traditional “HR”:

Your local employment standards - dis mine! (British Columbia’s Employment Standards website) It’s about as boring and uninteresting as it looks. However, it tells you how to comply with the law - which is hella important and sometimes surprisingly interesting. Emphasis on sometimes.
Josh Bersin’s Deloitte consulting company - Josh Bersin is a guy who worked for Deloitte who now runs his own consulting company (that's the real, real abridged version). Any hoo - “Bersin” conducts a ton of research into the future of HR/employee experience and consistently delivers great stuff. I can even vouch for their webinars! :O
